Maximilian von Alvensleben

Some people find photography. I think photography found me. It just took a while for me to fully listen.

I grew up surrounded by people who saw the world through structure, proportion and space. My grandfather was an architect. So was my stepmother. From my grandfather I inherited something I didn't fully understand at the time: an eye for detail. The way a shadow falls. The tension between two lines. The quiet weight of a well-composed space.

At 15, I took my first photographs. A few of those early prints ended up on the wall of my stepfather's practice. They stayed there for nearly twenty years. That meant more to me than any award ever could.

Studying architecture and spending eight years in the construction industry sharpened something else entirely: my sense of perspective. How light moves through a space. How proportion changes the feeling of a room. How the smallest detail can make or break the whole.

At the end of 2022 I invested in a professional camera and gave myself permission to take this seriously. By spring 2023, Alvensleben Photography was born.

What I bring to every project is not just a camera. It is a way of seeing shaped over decades. An architect's precision. A photographer's instinct. And a genuine belief that both people and places deserve to be seen with the same depth of attention.
